Alicia Silverstone Blames This Movie For Her Decision To Quit Acting

Don't concern: it wasn't 'Clueless.' Now that that is out of the way, it is true that Alicia Silverstone did turn into dissatisfied with Hollywood after acting in a particular film. But she wasn't always so jaded about popularity.

As IMDb highlights, Alicia Silverstone's rise to popularity started some distance before 'Clueless' was once ever filmed.

The actress was within the '90s hit 'The Wonder Years,' was once in a total of 4 Aerosmith track movies, and acted in a large number of TV and movie productions. She also, in fact, skyrocketed in recognition after 'Clueless' in 1995, which the actress recognized was iconic for its time.

But fanatics (and critics) have not at all times been kind to the soft-spoken celebrity. While her persona Cher was once outspoken and had plenty of angle, Alicia is somewhat quieter and has a tamer character offscreen.

In reality, as Today reported, Alicia actually "stopped loving acting" after showing in one explicit movie: 1997's 'Batman & Robin.' As the actress defined, when she played Batgirl alongside George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell, tabloids started calling her out for one thing specific and hurtful: her body.

Tabloids featured headlines that called her "Fatgirl," Alicia recalled, announcing, "That definitely wasn’t my favorite film-making experience." She was once most effective 20 at the time, she noted, but the younger actor knew it wasn't right for critics to make amusing of her body.

After the good fortune of 'Clueless,' Alicia had earned her position in the spotlight, nevertheless it wasn't kind. It did not help that 'Batman & Robin' bombed at the box office, securing Alicia a "worst supporting actress" Razzie.

Wrapping up the movie was once somewhat of a reduction for Silverstone, who noted that she did not exactly "come out like a warrior" to protect herself. Instead, Alicia finished the undertaking and stepped away, pronouncing that she "stopped loving acting for a very long time."

Of path, now that she's a mom and a seasoned actress with a platform, Alicia's now not afraid to throw back and throw down when it comes to the haters.

And thankfully, Alicia didn't in reality take a hiatus from acting. She had some other movie function that same 12 months and even acted on two TV sequence within the early 2000s. Later, Alicia would seem in a Scooby-Doo movie, 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul,' and 'The Baby-Sitters Club,' amongst other movies and TV roles.

Things have really come full-circle for Alicia, though, as she starred in 'Bad Therapy' in 2020. While the film didn't earn great critiques from critics or fanatics, Alicia's embracing roles that propel her previous Cher's iconic traces.

As a 40+ actress in Hollywood, Alicia continues to adapt and triumph over, taking the jobs that speak to her and no longer worrying about what critics or tabloid headlines have to say.
